If your TikTok is not working properly, there are a couple of ways to fix it. Whether the app is not opening at all, crashing frequently, or couldn't play videos, follow the solutions below to fix TikTok not working

 Clear TikTok app cache

If your TikTok app is not working, it's presumably a problem from corrupted cache data. If you notice, your TikTok app plays some videos offline when you launch it. It's not magic. The cache memory stores some data temporarily to make the app run faster and work efficiently. If your TikTok is behaving badly, clearing the cached data may help fix it. Follow the steps below to do so.

• Launch the Settings app from your app drawer, then click on the Apps & Notifications
• From there, click on the option to view all apps. Usually "App info", "Manage Apps", or "See all apps".
• After displaying the list of apps on your phone, locate TikTok and open it.
• Tap Storage & cache on the TikTok app information page.
• Finally, hit Clear cache to erase the cached data. Now press the back button once and tap on the Force stop button to close the TikTok app.

After that, re-launch the TikTok app to see if it rectifies the problem or try another solution below.

Restart the phone

If clearing cache for the TikTok app seems to do nothing, it's time to restart your phone. Perhaps the problem was caused by a software bug, or maybe the CPU is filled too full. Restarting your phone will close all running processes and refresh the memory, and it takes less than 2 minutes to get it done in most cases.

• Launch Play Store on your phone and search for TikTok.

Check the Network

More often than not, TikTok requires a stable internet connection to show you those funny performances from users. In case your network is fluctuating or you're out of coverage, you wouldn't see recent updates. To check if you have an active internet connection, you can try opening a webpage with your Chrome browser. Alternatively, you can test your internet speed  to see how much data your phone is pulling from the network. If the internet speed is not too good, you could try connecting to another Wifi network or wait for a few moments before using TikTok again.

Check the TikTok app permissions

TikTok needs some permissions to make it work efficiently. In cases you didn't allow TikTok to get some of its relevant permissions like Camera, Microphone, Storage, etc., you might not be able to use it to the fullest. Follow the steps below to check and allow necessary permissions for the TikTok app.

• Launch Settings on your phone and click Apps & notifications.
• Click on the option to view all installed apps, then locate and open TikTok.
• Click on the Permissions tab and allow all necessary ones.

Now, relaunch TikTok to see if it fixes the issue.

Uninstall and reinstall the TikTok app

Have you tried all the solutions above with no positive response? It's time to start afresh. If other apps on your phone are working perfectly but TikTok just won't cooperate, it means the app is faulty.

More so, if you didn't install the TikTok app from the Play Store earlier, perhaps you transferred the APK file from a friend's phone, you're liable to face issues enjoying TikTok on your phone. In light of this, we recommend you uninstall and reinstall the TikTok app directly from the Play Store. Follow the steps below to do so.

• Open the Play Store on your Android phone and search for TikTok.

Is TikTok restricted in your country?

TikTok was banned recently in some countries.  So, if you live in a country where TikTok is banned or restricted, you won't be able to use the app as intended.

Also, TikTok itself has some restrictions based on ages. Users under the age of 13 can't create or comment on contents. The account of kids between the ages of 13-15 is set to private by default. Meaning just their followers can comment on their contents, and users are not allowed to make a duet with them.

So, if you fall under these categories, you might not be able to use TikTok as intended.
